21st to 27th July
Essential education for teachers, outdoor educators, naturalists, parents and other community creatives.
The Art of Mentoring is an immersion into a living, learning culture of nature and self-awareness. It reinforces knowledge, tools and practices that enrich the relationships that allow you to sustain a culture of connection in all aspects of your life and community. View a video of the Art of Mentoring events which have taken place in previous years.
In this week long residential course you will receive an experiential introduction to the '8 shields' nature-based map for healthy culture, team building and learning. Primarily an adult focused training, the event has teen and youth programmes running concurrently to offer an inter-generational mentoring experience.
"I expected to learn practical exercises I could pass on, instead I got a whole map of transformation" Dr. Adrian Harris, Eco-Psychologist
The curriculum draws on a combination of approaches from modern education, indigenous wisdom, and principles observed in nature. This course awakens new possibilities and provides clear specific ways of working.
"A mindshifting, heart opening, profoundly connecting extravaganza" Ana Dijon, Outdoor Educator
"At its best, the Art of Mentoring helps individuals realise their full potential to the benefit of their community" Jon Young, Tracker and Storyteller.

As you can imagine, The Big Tent is all about helping keep our beautiful environment safe and secure for the long-term. We have partnered with countless organisations who share our interest in helping to protect not only the estate but the environemnt more generally. Over the years the festival has brought together companies and organisations from all kinds of industries, from London rubbish removal companies to global brands, to help raise awareness of the causes that we champion.
Big Tent is organised by Falkland Centre for Stewardship.
